I only played a couple of games of NHL 2K8 today. I would have had another achievement but the USSR 1980 team beat me in a shootout that went 8 rounds. I really need to get better at those. Regardless I got a few points.

Review: XBOX 360 Play and Charge Kit - Black

My first review of an item for this website is the XBOX 360 Play and Charge Kit (Black). I realized rather quickly that with the amount of time I am going to devote to playing my Xbox 360 Elite and the cheap AA batteries I buy aren't going to cut it. I also saw no point in buying expensive batteries that will last longer, as I'm just going to throw them out when they are dead. I did some research and found out about the Play and Charge Kit, read some reviews on Amazon, and bought two of them. I found that the entire setup is very easy to use. Immediately I was surprised at how well the rechargeable battery held its charge. I've been playing well over 6 hours without needing to reconnect the cable. Also, when the cable is connected it is as if the controller is a normal wired controller without any noticeable difference. There is no hindrance to my playing ability when the cable is connected, charging the battery. I will report later on to see how well the battery life lasts after multiple chargings, but for right now, I'm a very satisfied customer of the XBOX 360 Play and Charge Kit (Black).

I played a good amount of Gears of War with my brother today. It's a pretty fun game, but it takes awhile to get used to. It's the only game that I can remember where you have to do something other than push one button to reload. It sure made it interesting and while it sounds odd at first, you certainly get the hang of it fairly quickly. We're playing it on Hardcore mode because he's already beaten it and couldn't stand to play it with me on casual. It sure makes things tough learning the game on a somewhat high difficulty setting, regardless I'm having fun. I think this would be a pretty fun game to play on Xbox Live and I might have to try that out soon.

As you can tell I played a good amount of Guitar Hero 2 today. While I am quite new to this game (read: terrible) I am still enjoying it. I'm pretty shocked that this style of game has taken so long to hit the market. I mean, the controller is pretty basic, as is the graphics. I could easily see this game being on the Sega Genesis. I'm a member of Gamefly and the game I have now is Mass Effect so I expect to be playing that in the coming weeks.

My First Post: Welcome everyone!

I'm both new to the XBOX360 and to blogging. I've been wanting to try both out and finally got my chance a couple days ago. Someone was selling an XBOX 360 Elite at my job for a fairly good price. Since I just got an amazing Christmas bonus, I decided to pick it up. I must say I am really pleased with my purchase and have become highly interested in it.

I've also been wanting to get into blogging and have heard some good things about blogger. Since I don't lead too interesting of a life I figured it would be a good combination to just blog about my new XBOX360 and all of the achievements I get. I'll also post here about new games coming out that I find interesting; my experience with all of the products I come in contact with; reviews of games that I play; etc. I think it will be a really fun time.
